Day 40: Jesus, Our Silent Saturday

Before he came

Hearts seeking Spirit
Minds needing Peace
Community health
Distributed wealth
Truth that tells
Justice that rings

Were all ignored by

Silent treatment
Code of silence
Conspiracy of silence
Deafening silence
Wall of silence
Heavy silence
Consent through silence

But

While he stayed here
Were all swallowed up in his life

Yet

That was not enough

So

“He bowed his head
And
Gave up his spirit”

Now his death is
As silent as the grave

While he sleeps, let us sit with him in silence.
