About

Storyteller. Speaker. Spiritual Director.

I believe that writing is both mirror and medicine for the human soul. I share words and works to help people heal, grow, and flourish as God’s image-bearer.

  • Writing is how I make sense of my life and our world. Writing is something I do when I feel unheard, unloved, and unwanted. I do it when I feel loved, cherished, and desired. Writing is how I talk to and about God and truth. Writing is how I love God and love my neighbor and myself. For me, writing is an act of self-discovery and a way to build community. I am my bravest and best self on the page.

  • I aim to be an anthropologist of the human condition and a champion of the human soul. We are in this together, trying to figure it out, messing up big time and getting it right sometimes. Yet, we are constantly being rescued by a loving, kind and generous God who always respects our humanity. I want my writing to remind us of the fact that we are loved beyond measure by an awesome God.

  • My folks are humans who may be broken but not bitter. Humans who may be bitter but want to be better. Humans who may be hurting but not hateful. Humans who may be hateful but want to be healed. Anyone who wants to meet God at the well.

  • My dream is to produce works of healing and hope that inspire humans to recognize and live according to their inherent valued rooted God’s undying love, grace and mercy towards his children. My dream is to be a a servant of God who promotes healing and hope of the message and mission of Christ Jesus through real and relatable soulful storytelling.

A contemplative at heart, I am also a storyteller and spiritual director in the Ignatian tradition. My work intersects where God’s story meets our story. My mission is to help people experience God’s love, grace, and mercy through my work. My vision is that we all live as God’s beloved image-bearers.

I obtained my Master of Divinity from Wesley Theology Seminary and am working on my Doctor of Ministry at Boston University. I also have a Master of Creative Writing from Goddard College and a Master of Sacred Theology from Drew University. In 2009, I started a blog Love Speaks Daily. That blog has expanded to Love Speaks Ministries, whose purpose is to share God’s love by magnifying the word and work of Christ Jesus.

I have been wordsmithing and storytelling since my sixth-grade English teacher taught me the power of words. To pay the bills, I have maintained a 20+ year career in communications, training, and administration. I was born and raised in the AME Church, gave my life to Christ at eight years old, and I am still a member of that church located in rural South Carolina. In all that I do, I remain passionately Christian and compassionately interfaith.
